“There simply isn’t enough time, sometimes. I scooped up a bouquet of eryngos from the hill, because I wanted to be able to study and enjoy them more in person. The backdrop is a linen canvas, I’ve been itching to paint a larger eryngo work on, but couldn’t until I wrapped this still life up. The home stretch or last push to get this one to a finishing point, was a good feeling, once I said, “you’ve done enough.” There’s a mix of whimsical and imagination on top of the bouquet in the mason jar. That jute rope is actually not that detailed, (that would have been overkill) it just looks that way stepping a bit back. I hope you enjoy this one; it was a pleasure to make.”
