--How do I apply to exhibit my artwork at Living Grey Collective?

--What does the application entail?

The application is a relatively simple process. We ask for basic contact information, artistic background, and 8-15 digital images of your artwork.

--Do all of the artworks in my application need to be available for sale?

We ask for at least 8 examples of your artwork in the application process. All work needs to be currently available and created within the last 4 years. Some exceptions may be made for limited edition prints. 

--What kind of artwork do you show?

We exhibit original art in every genre, style, size, and media with the exception of AI-generated art, and video art. All work is vetted by our founder before going on display. Our goal is to offer clients a diverse selection of two- and three-dimensional media. Occasionally we do show reproductions of original pieces, such as limited edition prints, giclées.

--What is your commission structure?

We earn commission by facilitating the sale of the artwork. The commission percentage is 30% of the sales price. 

--How will you market my work?

We offer comprehensive online marketing services, including SEM, SEO, and retargeting ads, coupled with a robust content strategy and expanding social media presence. Exhibitors may participate in exclusive projects and collaborations. We provide hands-on support to the artists we represent.

--How long has Living Grey Collective been in business?

Founded in 2024, Living Grey Collective is a new initiative to connect, but not limited to, North & East Texas artists to collectors. 

--Where is Living Grey Collective based?

Our virtual galley is managed by its founder in the United States. While we do not operate a physical gallery space, we still value meeting artists and clients in person.  If you are near Sherman, Texas, you might have the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting with us!

--How many artists does Living Grey Collective represent?

We are in line with the goal to represent 45-52 artists by the end of 2024. 

--If I exhibit my work with Living Grey Collective, may I seek other gallery representation? 

We do not require exclusivity on the artworks shown on the Living Grey Collective site, but we recommend limiting your use of online art marketplaces. We encourage you to pursue brick-and-mortar gallery representation while showing with Living Grey Collective. This increases the exposure of your work and your chances for success.

--If I exhibit my work at Living Grey Collective, may I also show the same pieces on my personal website and social media accounts?

Yes, we are happy for you to show your same artworks on Living Grey Collective as on your personal website and social media accounts. For these pieces, we do not require exclusivity and while we appreciate if you link back to the art on Living Grey Collective and tag us in your social posts, it is not required. However, we do require price match. If clients contact you about the artwork through these channels, we recommend you direct them back to Living Grey Collective for further details and purchase. This facilitates a more consistent and trusted experience for individual clients.

--How long does my artwork remain on Living Grey Collective website?

Each artwork that you show on Living Grey Collective remains the entire time we represent the piece which is a minimum period of 180 days. An artwork can be removed from the website with a 7 day advance written notice.  We recommend artists not to remove artwork from their portfolios during their first six months showing with Living Grey Collective.

--How should my artwork be finished for Living Grey Collective?

Before you photograph for site, all artwork must be finished professionally. We recommend edges to be cleanly finished but accept this is an artist's personal choice. Artwork that is stretched or on a cradled surface must have a hanging wire. Artworks that have a dimension longer that 24 inches should have stretcher bars of alteast 1.5 inches deep. There should be no visible staples when hung on a wall. For larger works exceeding 24 inches for any dimension, we allow work to be sold as unstretched. These works would be shipped rolled in a tube for clients.

--Does Living Grey Collective sell framed artwork?

To allow clients to select frames that suit their decor or display artwork unframed, we prefer artwork to be unframed. 

--What is the process when an artwork sells?

 Once your art is sold, you will receive an email notifying you of the sale. Artists also receive prepaid USPS labels. How to package artwork will be determined during each individual artist on-boarding. Our artists are not responsible for the cost of packaging and shipping. 

--Who owns the right of my artwork once it is sold?

You retain the rights to your art after it is sold.

--Can artwork be purchased by clients outside of the United States

Not at this time.

--What happens if artwork is damaged in transit?

In rare case of damage, we will file a claim on your behalf. Every artwork we ship is ensured for its full value. 

--When and how do I get paid for sold artwork?

We pay artists within 30 days of receipt of a sale. Artists will be paid via direct deposit. 

--How do I report my Living Grey Collective earnings for tax purposes?

You will be responsible for reporting your income through Living Grey Collective on your own. Unddr our business model, artists are considered consignors rather than contractors. Because of this, 1099 forms are not provided but a record of your Living Grey Collective sales will be available to you as needed to report your own earnings.
